WILLIAM YONG - Rehearsal Director




William Yong was born in Hong Kong and received a scholarship from the HK Jockey Club Dance Fund to study at the London Contemporary Dance School in England. He was awarded a Master of Arts degree with distinction by the University of Kent. After graduation, William was part of Wayne McGregor's Random Dance Company. He then worked for Matthew Bourne's 'Adventures in Motion Pictures' (AMP). William was a member of the original and film cast of the multiple awards winning production (Lawrence Olivier Award and triple 1999 Tony Award) of 'Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake' that toured England, Scotland, London's West End, Los Angeles, and Broadway.

In Canada, he has performed with CORPUS, Chimera Project and Blue Collar Dance Company. He also has worked with Matjash Mrozewski, Michelle Silagy, Rebecca Mendoza, Kathleen Rea and others. William was also a member of Christopher House's Toronto Dance Theatre for five seasons from year 2000 - 2005. In 2005, he left TDT to be an independent artist and founded the new dance organisation Zata Omm Dance Projects.
