AKA Dance offers an exciting educational program for young audiences called Superheroes in the Schools/ Les Superhéros a l’école.

Superheroes in the Schools/ Les Superhéros a l’école is a visual and physical feast for the senses featuring two dance pieces about comics and cowgirls, a music demonstration and an interactive discussion about dance, the creative process and the students’ understanding of the performance. The company also offers creative dance workshops for students.

Performances

In a Single Bound is a larger-than-life journey into the world of comic books and their Superheroes. An interactive score of by a live DJ adds the “boom”, “pow” and “bam” to this physically exciting show that touches on physical strength, heroism, teamwork and caring for others.

Kobe Cowgirls is a comical and theatrical exploration of North American and Japanese Cowgirls that focuses on cultural diversity and working together, emphasizing responsibility and cooperation. Blending Western and Eastern music, dance styles and aesthetics, this engaging and interactive performance is full of surprises!
